21:05-21:45Derivatives of Products, Quotients, Sine, and Cosine (YDF) — 40min
21:45-21:55Q&A

内容概要 / Summary

YDF — Derivatives of Products, Quotients, Sine, and Cosine (MIT OCW 18.01 Lecture 3)

微積分 / Calculus (00:10–00:50)

  • Derivatives of products & quotients — review with worked problems; the topic itself (Lecture 3)
  • Trigonometric derivatives & limits — sine/cosine problems, differential elements, and limits review; one cosine calculation spanned ~30 min
  • Advanced trig functions — cosecant and tangents discussed
  • Limit calculations — advanced limit problems, variable tracking and limit notation
  • AP course scheduling — YDF proposed pushing back the AP class and AP science curriculum to match the current study pace

雑談・技術討論 / Casual tech discussion (00:56–02:31)

  • UX / digital system discussion, social media, beta sign-in processes
  • Hardware: CPU/GPU, SSD storage limits (“SSD can’t handle it”), software downloads
  • Software/AI: APIs & prompt skills, agent development (“attention is all you need”), transformer models
  • Prompt harness & human-in-the-loop architecture (GG)
  • Python trading SOP (Cheese leopard), Codex code reference
  • Platform performance, Facebook integration, quadrant metrics

Meeting ran ~2.5h (until 02:31). No formal decisions were finalized in the casual portion.

Feedback

👍 Good

  • Built directly on Lecture 2’s trig limits to prove sin/cos derivatives — good continuity
  • Real calc class material, well-structured progression (products, quotients, trig)
  • Session naturally extended into casual tech discussion (AI agents, hardware) — good community vibe

💡 Improvements

  • Gemini notes were delayed (~30 min) and split across two docs (empty 1um2H + real 15Wko) — keep notes on and wait for sync before summarizing
  • Casual portion ran long (~1.5h); fine for a hangout, but the official 21:00–22:00 timeline was exceeded
  • Writing key formulas on the board ahead of time could make them easier to follow live

📝 Notes

  • Session continued the MIT 18.01 Lecture series (Lecture 2 → Lecture 3)
  • YDF proposed delaying AP course/science schedule to match current study pace
  • GG raised prompt-harness / human-in-the-loop architecture discussion
